Holyport
Holyport is a sprawling village in East Berkshire to the south-east of Maidenhead, bordered by the M4, the A308 Windsor Road and A330 Ascot Road.
The village is an eclectic mix of old and new and the houses and flats in Holyport reflect this.
The historic village centre hosts a number of attractive old houses, primarily around the village green and Langworthy Lane area, which still have a feeling of a typical old English village.
More modern flats and houses stretch away from the village green to the north and south of Holyport, with the bulk of life now along the Holyport Road and its feeder roads.
Holyport comprises built-up areas and open fields, both agricultural and pastoral, with housing giving way to grazing land or stables at regular intervals.
Community
If you choose to rent or buy in Holyport you will soon find the village has retained some commercial independence.
It has a number of shops in the local area including a post office, butchers, chemist, newsagents, and sandwich shop.
Holyport pubs are many and varied, from the historic Belgian Arms and The George in the centre of old Holyport to the more recent, such as the Jolly Gardener.
The village also boasts a large community building in the war memorial hall, for parties and community events. Properties are in close proximity to Holyport playing fields, which are used throughout the year, and one of the few real tennis courts in the country.
Holyport has a packed social diary including a village fair, show, and arts and crafts show.
Transport
Holyport is served by local bus companies but it also has excellent links to the West Country, south Wales and London and being just a mile from Maidenhead railway station makes Holyport a popular place to buy a property.
