Taplow is a picturesque and quiet village on the east of the River Thames in South Buckinghamshire.

Taplow sprawls approximately one and a half miles either side of the Bath Road. Taplow has almost exclusively residential property, with a range of detached and semi-detached Edwardian and Victorian and some riverside houses as well as flats.

The paper mill dominates Mill Lane and Taplow Court. Property for rent in Taplow often appeals because buying in such a popular area can be costly. There are a handful of local hotels, including Taplow House Hotel and Cliveden Hotel, with National Trust gardens, and businesses including car dealerships have built up on the Bath Road (A4).

Community

Taplow Village is a conservation area, as is the area just south of the bridge. Sporting enthusiasts looking for rental properties in Taplow will be pleased to hear Taplow houses a cricket club and the Maidenhead Rowing Club. Taplow Village Centre is used as a meeting place for cubs, ballet classes, yoga and keep fit and is available for hire for parties and to local organisations.

St Nicolas' Church is the parish church and there is a private playgroup in the Village Centre. Three traditional pubs serve hot food and there is a Harvester restaurant on the A4.

Taplow has no shops in the village but the Bishops Centre on the A4 offers a wide variety of large stores including DIY, arts and crafts and home furnishings, and Taplow is served by a local Sainsbury's superstore.

There is also a local veterinary surgery and a doctors' surgery.

Transport

Taplow has convenient access to Maidenhead and Slough and to the M4. City workers also find Taplow desirable to rent or buy a property because of its twice hourly service to London.

Schools

The area is served by St Nicholas CE School, a popular mixed primary school. Children go on to senior schools in Burnham or Maidenhead.
